The grandmother of the 11-year-old girl who survived the plane crash near Aktau thanked in a conversation with Izvestia all those involved for their help in saving her granddaughter and daughter.

"Thank you to the whole world, [all the people] who responded and helped as their own [children]. Thank you people, so kind, so responsive," she said.

The girl is in a moderately serious condition in a neurosurgery department in Moscow. The girl's mother is in serious condition in intensive care.

An AZAL Airlines passenger plane crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. After the fall the plane caught fire. Preliminary, the cause of the fall of the plane could be a collision with a flock of birds. A criminal case was opened after the crash. AZAL suspended flights from Baku to Grozny and Makhachkala until the investigation is completed.

AZAL published a list, according to which 62 passengers and five crew members were on board, 38 people died. In addition, the plane crash killed seven Russians, and nine survived, reports "Gazeta.Ru". They were hospitalized, later a special airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered the Russians to Moscow.

The head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, said on December 26 that the Russians injured in the crash remained in a stable condition during the flight to Moscow, four of them were on artificial ventilation. Two of the injured are in extremely serious condition, one of the patients is "light", and the rest of the injured are in moderate condition.
