A combined intensive care and rehabilitation department was opened at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital.

The Russian Children's Clinical Hospital (RCCH) in Moscow has opened a new department for patients who need both rehabilitation and resuscitation measures. About it on Friday, December 27, reported the correspondent of "Izvestia".

"This is the most severe category of patients who most often come to the intensive care unit in a serious condition after traffic accidents, mine blast injuries, after severe somatic and infectious diseases", - said the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko to journalists.

He explained that when resuscitation care is rendered, immobilization syndrome may start to form already on the second day, which aggravates the course of the disease.

The new department, the minister continued, will make it possible to maximize the potential for restoring health in a child.

"The peculiarity of this department is that the layout, equipment, solutions that have been developed here - they are unique and allow specialists of different directions to work with the child throughout the day, thereby returning the opportunity to recover," Murashko emphasized.

Earlier, on December 20, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin said that the fifth flagship center opened in the capital's N.I. Pirogov State Clinical Hospital No. 1. It was specified that for the first time an integrated digital operating room for high-tech operations appeared in Pirogov State Clinical Hospital.
