Dollar share in global reserves hits three-decade low

The share of the dollar in the world reserves has updated the minimum for three decades. The corresponding data was published on December 27 by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
It is specified that at the moment the share of the dollar is 57.4%. The indicator has reached a minimum since 1995.
The main reason for the decline in the share of the dollar in world reserves is the growth of investments in euros. So, in the period from July to September, the indicator of the main currency of the eurozone increased from 19.75 to 20.02%, added "Gazeta.Ru".
Earlier, on December 9, stock market analyst of MC "Alfa Capital" Alina Poptsova said that by March 2025, the euro rate may equal the rate of the dollar - to reach parity in the pair with the U.S. currency. According to her, the Fed, on the contrary, is signaling more caution in cutting rates given the high economic growth and stability of inflation. While the ECB is more likely to cut rates in December and in the first quarter of 2025, the Fed does not rule out the scenario of a pause in December if inflation is higher than expected, the analyst said.
Before that, in April 2023, it became known that the share of the dollar in international foreign exchange reserves fell to 58.36% for the first time in 27 years. Yuan and Japanese yen decreased by 0.11% and 0.01%, respectively.
