Moscow and Beijing will have to jointly counter the West's dual deterrence in 2025. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov on December 27.

"In the international arena, our countries will have to continue to respond with "double counteraction" to the "double deterrence" that the West is trying to conduct with regard to Russia and China," the ambassador told RIA Novosti.

The diplomat pointed out that in the coming year Moscow and Beijing will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II, in which Russia and China suffered the greatest losses, making the main contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany and militaristic Japan. Morgulov stressed that Moscow and Beijing are in solidarity that the task of the whole world is to preserve historical memory, not to allow the glorification of criminals and never forget their victims.

The Ambassador pointed out that Russia is grateful to China for the fact that this country carefully treats memorial sites and burial places of the Soviet military, who fought for the independence and freedom of the PRC, reports "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on December 13, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow and Beijing held consultations on missile defense. Representatives of the states exchanged views on medium-range and shorter-range missiles on the topic of global and regional security.

Before that, on October 14, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Andrei Belousov arrived in Beijing on an official visit. During talks with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun, Belousov called the strategic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing an important element of global and regional stability. The trusting relationship between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping plays an important role in this partnership.

Later, on December 19, Putin pointed out during the "Results of the Year" that cooperation between Moscow and Beijing has reached the highest level in recent decades. The president recalled that Russia and China suffered the greatest losses in World War II, the two countries fought side by side then, and they continue to follow a common path now.
