In the Chelyabinsk region, two men were convicted for the illegal manufacture of weapons

Kyshtymsky city court of Chelyabinsk region sentenced two residents of the region to four and seven years' imprisonment with serving their sentences in a penal colony of general regime for the manufacture, alteration and storage of means of destruction. This was reported on December 27 by the press service of the Department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the region.

Among other things, one of the convicts will have to pay a fine of Br50 thousand.

The men were found guilty under part 1 of article 222 ("Illegal acquisition, sale, storage of weapons, main parts of firearms, ammunition"), part 1 of article 222.1 ("Illegal acquisition, sale, storage of explosives or explosive devices"), as well as paragraphs "a", "c" of part 2 of article 163 ("Extortion committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy") of the Criminal Code of Russia.

"In the course of operational and investigative measures in September 2023 <...> a weapons cache was discovered. As a result, rifled firearms, grenades, fuses for hand grenades, imitation mines and about a thousand rounds of ammunition of various caliber were withdrawn from circulation", - stated in the message of the agency, with the specification that operational measures to detain the attackers were carried out by employees of the FSSB together with the police.

Earlier, on December 25, in the Moscow region prevented a terrorist attack by the special services of Ukraine against the head of a defense enterprise. Seven Russian citizens were detained, three of them minors. Now they give confessions and cooperate with the investigation. It was specified that the attackers were contacted through messengers. The Investigative Committee (IC) added that the special services of Ukraine were looking for people willing to commit murder for a cash reward of at least 1 million rubles.
