New road objects in Moscow named in honor of Titov and Korolev


In honor of cosmonaut German Titov and academician Sergey Korolev new road objects in Moscow were named. This was announced on Friday, December 27, by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his Telegram-channel.
The embankment between Novofilevsky and Beregovy passages was named after German Titov - the second Soviet cosmonaut and the first person in the world who made a long space flight, he specified.
And the bridge between Beregovy Proyezd and Shelepikhinskaya Embankment was named after Academician Korolev. In honor of the founder of practical cosmonautics, an outstanding scientist, designer and organizer of work on the creation of domestic rocket and space technology, Sobyanin stressed.
According to the mayor, both objects are located near the future National Space Center. It is planned to be put into operation in 2025.
Earlier, on December 26, Sobyanin told about the opening of a new bridge across the Moskva River. According to the mayor of Moscow, the work on the construction of the bridge was completed four months ahead of schedule. During the construction, the city authorities did not suspend river transportation. The bridge structures are painted in scarlet color and decorated with illumination. At night, the illumination will serve as additional lighting.
