The U.S. State Department condemns Hong Kong rewards and the revocation of passports of Democrats. This was reported by Reuters on December 27.

It is informed that the US State Department condemned Hong Kong's decision to announce rewards for six more Democratic activists believed to have violated national security laws, and also criticized the revocation of passports of seven more of them.

Washington separately rebuked China for taking action against two Canadian institutions and 20 people involved in human rights issues related to Uighurs and Tibet.

"We reject the Hong Kong government's attempts to intimidate and silence people who have chosen to make the United States their home," the interstate statement read.

Earlier, on November 21, Alexei Poroshin, CEO of First Group JSC, said that PRC banks had tightened checks on payments after the US election. According to him, the situation with payments to China is unlikely to improve in 2025.
