Emergency Situations Ministry warned of dangerous waves off the coast of Iturup Island

Dangerous disturbances are expected near the Okhotomorsk coast of Iturup Island, Sakhalin Region. This was reported on December 27 in its Telegram-channel by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

"At night from December 27 to 28 at the Okhotomorsky coast of Lake Iturup is expected strong excitement: 4 m and more. Waterlogging of coastal structures is possible. The phenomenon will persist until the evening of December 28, according to FGBU "Sakhalin UHMS", - wrote the agency.

EMERCOM representatives also noted that the emergency warning and response recommendations were sent to the administration of the Kuril region, as well as to the Sakhalin Fleet Surveillance Service.

All residents of these areas are advised to postpone planned outings to the sea on small boats and keep a safe distance from the water.

Earlier, December 19, it was reported that on Sakhalin in the Okha region introduced a restriction on the movement of suburban buses. The reason is unfavorable weather conditions.
