Suspects in the illegal organization and conduct of gambling games were detained in Moscow

Employees of the Russian Interior Ministry detained in Moscow suspected of organizing and conducting gambling without the necessary license. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on December 27.

According to preliminary data, there were organized two call-centers in Presnensky district of Moscow, from which they called customers, took bets, kept statistics and issued winnings.

During searches of the facilities 250 million rubles, cell phones, computer equipment, documents and other items of evidentiary value were found. It turned out that the criminal income of the attackers from 2021 exceeded 10 billion rubles.

"The investigative authorities have initiated a criminal case on the signs of a crime under Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal organization and conduct of gambling")", - informed Volk.

It is specified that one of the defendants was taken into custody, and another 16 participants elected a measure of restraint in the form of a signature on non-departure and proper behavior.

Earlier, on October 11, seven people were detained in Moscow for organizing an underground casino. According to the investigation, a group of people rented premises where they organized and held games using gaming equipment outside gambling zones.
