About 70 people aboard a shipwreck in Moroccan waters are missing

The government of Mali reported about almost 70 missing passengers of the shipwrecked in the waters of Morocco. This was reported by France Info news agency on December 26.

"Initially, the number of passengers of the ship, headed to Spain, was 80 people, unfortunately, among the victims identified 25 young Malians," - the agency quotes the statement of the Malian government.

It is specified that 11 people were rescued, among them nine Malians.

Earlier, on October 1, Taiwanese rescuers evacuated 19 sailors, including three Russians, from a sinking cargo ship near Lanyu Island. The bulk carrier Blue Lagoon was traveling under the flag of Barbados. The crew discovered a leak in the engine compartment 18 miles from shore and decided to abandon ship.
