Russian storm troopers told about the liberation of the Novy Trud settlement

Units of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) of the Center group of troops are continuing their offensive in the Pokrovsky area of the special military operation (SMO). Russian military officers told Izvestia on December 27 about how the offensive operations to liberate the settlement of Novy Trud are going on.
"It, the stronghold, was big, and it had a lot of exits. So we had to throw in a TMka (anti-tank mine. - Ed.) to put this whole stronghold together. Yeah, it's dangerous. It's a matter of seconds. Because it's not made in such a way that it burns on the fuse, but on the grenade. And you know what a grenade is - five seconds, and it explodes. The grenade is put inside the TMka, everything is wrapped up, the bracket is removed, the ring is pulled out - and then it is immediately thrown in and that's it! And "New Year's Eve" - said the junior sergeant, commander of the assault platoon.
At the same time, the soldiers themselves are a couple of meters away from the site of the explosion. The Russian military, when TNT is not at hand, often uses ordinary grenades, which is a huge risk and requires some skill.
"Fear comes later, when you have arrived, when you already feel safe. And that's when your brain already turns on and you think: f-my, how is this even possible? Where did you get so much strength from? <...> You have a full (set. - Ed.) of ammunition there, 60 kilograms on you, you also have this body armor, and you are running! You think, "Holy shit, that's how much strength you have to have!" - Yevgeny Klimachev, a serviceman of the Center group of troops, said.
Private Klimachev used mines to destroy a Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) and an entire infantry squad. As a result of one of the combat missions, he received a contusion and can hardly hear anything, Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushin reported.
Alexei Koblkin, deputy commander of the assault company, noted that some Russian Armed Forces fighters need to be slowed down, as over time their instinct for self-preservation dulls and their sense of danger goes away.
"A man who does not feel fear, he will die quickly. He will not be afraid of anything, will go anywhere, even to hell, and such people should be suspended sometimes," summarized Koblkin.
Earlier, on December 25, the Russian Armed Forces fighters told how the liberation of the town of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) is progressing. The situation in the locality is tense. The eastern and northern neighborhoods of the town are under the control of the Russian army.
Before that, on December 24, operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Russian volunteer detachment Burevestnik told Izvestia on December 23 about the situation on the line of contact in Chasovy Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).
On that day, DNR head Denis Pushilin said that Russian forces had taken control of the Severny microdistrict in Chasovy Yar. He noted that the advance is not very fast, but it is successful.
Shortly before that, on December 21, the Russian military defeated Ukrainian brigades near a number of DNR settlements, including Chasovy Yar.
On November 30, tankers of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone control point near Chasov Yar. The strike was carried out by a T-72BZ tank, while the fire correction and objective control were carried out by drone operators.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
