Companies began to actively open subdivisions in the regions

Russian companies are more and more often establishing territorially separate subdivisions, Izvestia has found out. According to the RAS survey, 12% of companies announced plans to open them in the near future. This is a record at least since 2017 (earlier data is not given in the survey).
The fact that enterprises have a growing demand for opening separate divisions was confirmed to Izvestia by companies specializing in employee relations and recruitment.
"We observe a growing interest of companies in establishing offices in other subjects. This trend is especially noticeable in the spheres of production, logistics and IT," said Vadim Chermoshentsev, founder of PayPeople, a service for paying salaries at the request of employees.
According to him, the regions where there is usually a high unemployment rate or a significant inflow of able-bodied population - the North Caucasus, Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts - are promising for opening subdivisions.
But this practice is possible only for certain types of economic activities and is not applicable to the manufacturing industry, especially the defense industry, which is experiencing an acute shortage of personnel, said Viktor Lyashok, a leading researcher at the INSAP Center of the IPEI of the Presidential Academy.
As "Izvestia" wrote, the need of the Russian economy in workers increased by 10% in the second quarter of 2024, up to 2.7 million people.
