Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has died


Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh died at the 93rd year of life in New Delhi. This was reported on December 26 by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where the politician was treated.
The former prime minister was taken to the emergency department of the institute in New Delhi after a sudden loss of consciousness at his home. Despite the best efforts of the medics, the politician could not be saved.
"It is with deep sorrow that we announce the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, at the age of 92. He was undergoing treatment for age-related ailments and suffered a sudden loss of consciousness at his home on December 26, 2024. Resuscitative measures were initiated immediately," the social network X (formerly Twitter) noted.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over Singh's death. India mourns the loss of one of its most prominent leaders, he said.
Singh served as India's prime minister from 2004 to 2014. He was India's first Sikh prime minister and also the first prime minister to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term.
