Putin says Russian authorities intend to slow inflation by 2025


The Russian authorities will strive to slow down inflation in 2025. Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters after a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on December 26.
"So that we don't have any spirals, jumps, so that we continue to have economic growth. My colleagues and I have agreed on everything about this growth, we do not plan that it will be the same as this year, at 4%," Putin said.
According to the president, the main thing for the country is the well-being of the Russian people, namely their standard of living, these indicators are regulated by the stability of inflation.
Putin also added that Russia has a balanced macroeconomic policy, where inflation growth is not needed. According to him, the growth will be carried out according to macroeconomic parameters to avoid distortions in the economy.
Earlier, on December 24, the head of the monetary policy department of the Bank of Russia Andrei Gangan said in an interview with Interfax that annual inflation in Russia will peak in April 2025, after which it will begin to actively decline.
On December 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the VTB forum "Russia Calling!" that the inflation rate will sooner or later reach the target of 4%. At the same time, the main tool to fight inflation is to ensure sufficient output of goods.
