British company recognized in Russia as an extremist association


The association, which includes Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoyskyy (included in the Russian Federation's list of terrorists and extremists), a British company, has been recognized in Russia as extremist and terrorist. This is stated in the updated list of Rosfinmonitoring on December 26.
Also in the company is an ex-owner of the bankrupt Smolensk Bank, who fell under criminal prosecution in connection with the creation of a financial pyramid scheme Pavel Shitov (included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists).
"The list of terrorists and extremists (included)... Organizations: 1. An association whose members are: Kolomoisky Igor Valeryevich, born 13.02.1963 in the city of Dnepropetrovsk <...> Ukraine, Shitov Pavel Nikolaevich, born 08.02.1972 in the city of Safonov, Smolensk region, JKX OIL & GAS LIMITED (JKX OIL & GAS LIMITED, country of registration - UK)," the list says.
In early September 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine charged Kolomoisky with fraud and legalization of property obtained by criminal means. According to the security service, from 2013 to 2020, the businessman legalized more than 500 million hryvnias ($13.5 million) by taking them abroad. As a result, the Shevchenkivskyi district court of Kiev sent the businessman to custody. His arrest was extended several times.
In addition, on March 5, 2024, the court in the Russian Federation turned Kolomoisky's property to the state income. The investigation found that Kolomoisky and related persons carried out extremist activities and financed armed formations of Ukraine.
Also on 8 May, the National Police of Ukraine said that Kolomoisky was suspected of organizing the failed contract killing of lawyer Serhiy Karpenko. Meanwhile, on July 2, the director of the Federal Bailiff Service, Dmitriy Aristov, said that Russian bailiffs seized and transferred to the Russian Federation the shares of two Kolomoyskyy's companies, as well as 503 real estate properties of debtors in his case.
