Russians spent 585 billion rubles on used cars in November

In the first 11 months of this year, Russians spent Br6.3 trillion on buying used cars, exceeding the figure for the whole of last year (Br5.8 trillion). In November, residents of the Russian Federation spent Br584.9 billion to buy cars with mileage, which is 17.9% more than in November 2023. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency "Autostat", which was received by "Izvestia" on December 27.

The most money went to the purchase of cars aged 10 years and older. Thus, in the last fall month, 234.8 billion rubles were spent on them (40.1% of the total amount), compared to November 2023, the share of such cars increased from 38.6%. The share of cars aged between five and nine years increased from 28.6% to 29.3% over the year. The share of cars under five years old in the financial capacity of the market decreased from 32.8% to 30.6%.

Costs for buying used cars of Chinese brands increased the most. In November, residents of the Russian Federation bought used "Chinese" for the amount of 26.1 billion rubles, which is 2.1 times more than a year ago. Their share in the financial capacity increased from 2.5% to 4.5%.

Domestic brands increased their share from 8.7% to 9.4% over the year. At the end of the fall, Russian cars with used cars were bought for 55 billion rubles (+27.4%). The share of European brands in the financial capacity of the secondary market decreased from 35.4% to 34.6%, Japanese brands - from 32.8% to 31.4%, American brands - from 5.9% to 5.3%, and Korean brands remained at the same level (14.6%).

In terms of expenditures, used cars of European brands are still the leaders, which in November cost 202.3 billion rubles (+15.1% to November 2023). The purchase of used "Japanese" was spent Br183.9 billion (+12.9%), "Koreans" - Br85.7 billion (+18.4%), "Americans" - Br31.1 billion (+5.9%). In addition, as the analysts said, 85% of the money spent fell on four segments: SUV (crossovers and SUVs), B-class, C-class and D-class.

At the same time, the weighted average price of a foreign car amounted to Br3.71 million, while the Russian car - Br1.35 million.
