"I think it is very important and symbolic that we are honoring the Year of the Family, which is coming to an end, and most importantly, those for whom this year has been, Russian families, as a subject of real pride of our entire country. Thank you. You are the pride of our big country," he said at a ceremony summing up the results of the Year of the Family at the Rossiya National Center.

Kirienko called it no coincidence that the opening of the Year of the Family was held at the exhibition "Russia", where everything the country is proud of was gathered, and the closing ceremony - in the center, which was created as a result of the exhibition.

Earlier, on November 24, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko proposed to hold a "Decade of the Family" in Russia to support laws to support family welfare.
