Victoria Radko, head of the orthodontic department of the EUROKAPPA clinic scientific and clinical center, said on Thursday, December 26, that the cause of frequent colds and complications leading to maxillary sinusitis may be an incorrect bite.

"The narrowing of the upper jaw and improper placement of the roots of the teeth often lead to a decrease in the volume of the maxillary sinuses. This creates conditions for stagnation of mucus, which contributes to the development of inflammatory processes in any cold. Such maxillary sinusitis is even called "dental", - quotes her words "Gazeta.Ru".

She noted that with narrow nasal passages swelling of the mucous membrane during a runny nose makes breathing more difficult. This makes people more often use vasoconstrictor drops, which can dry out the mucosa and aggravate the situation.

The specialist pointed out that correcting the bite not only improves the smile, but also eliminates the causes of frequent maxillary sinuses, normalizing nasal ventilation and the work of the sinuses. A modern and comfortable method is eliners, transparent mouthguards that gently and effectively align the teeth without causing discomfort.

Radko added that correction of anatomical features helps to get rid of frequent exacerbations of maxillary sinusitis and improve overall health.

Earlier, on December 22, Tatyana Taradeeva, therapist of "INVITRO-Privolzhie" told that temperature changes negatively affect human health. According to her, sudden cold leads to vasoconstriction, which is then replaced by their expansion when the temperature rises. This can cause discomfort and attacks in people with cardiovascular disease. Temperature fluctuations can also aggravate bronchopulmonary disease, especially in those with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
