The new station of the orange branch of the St. Petersburg metro "Gorny Institute" will open for passengers on Friday, December 27. This was announced by Governor Alexander Beglov in his Telegram-channel.

"Metro builders have completed work on the station "Gorny Institute". From tomorrow morning the station will be fully operational for passengers as part of the Lakhtinsko-Pravoberezhnaya line," the governor shared, calling the opening of the station a watershed event that marked the overcoming of the crisis in metro construction.

The station will open at 9:00. The lobby will be open for entrance and exit.

As TV channel "78" specifies , the permission to put the new station into operation was issued on December 24. On the same day the North-West Department of Rostekhnadzor issued a conclusion on compliance with all design requirements.

On December 5, Denis Chetyrbok, the head of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Legislative Assembly, said during a press conference that the construction of the subway in the budget of St. Petersburg for 2025 is allocated in a separate item. According to him, about 32 billion rubles have been allocated, although earlier they could hardly utilize 10 billion rubles due to the lack of capacity. In total, the budget of the city on the Neva for the next three years includes 170 billion rubles for the construction of the subway.
