In the Moscow region planted 180 thousand trees and shrubs in 2024

In 2024, 180 thousand trees and shrubs were planted on the territory of the Moscow region as part of environmental actions. The corresponding figure is reflected in the results of the year, which were summarized by the regional forestry committee.

"This year the format of traditional tree planting actions has changed. Now they are actions on preservation and restoration of the forest - "Forest of the future", "Day of good deeds" and "Day in the forest. Let's save the forest together", - listed the actions of the Committee Chairman Evgeny Agulov.

According to him, a total of 173 thousand people took part in the actions. They planted more than 180 thousand trees and shrubs on almost 1.6 thousand sites - forest areas and in municipalities.

In total, since 2018, about 2.8 million people have participated in eco-actions in the Moscow region, writes the online edition "Podmoskovye Segodnya".

According to the profile committee, this year in the Moscow region performed works on artificial reforestation on more than 400 hectares, natural reforestation - almost 1.3 thousand hectares. In 2025, the region plans to reforest another 1.6 thousand hectares.

In June, Deputy Head of the Federal Forestry Agency Alexei Venglinsky told "Izvestia" that in 2023 Russia managed to restore a record 1.4 million hectares of forest. Now the reforestation fund, according to him, is 35.2 million hectares. These are forest lands suitable for growing new trees: garlands, clearings, clearings and wastelands.
