An expert spoke about the causes of burnout at work

One of the most common causes of burnout is performing tasks that are not natural to us. Yulia Krylenko, head of HR practice at Adizes Business Consulting, told Izvestia on December 26 about burnout at work.
"When a person is required to behave in a way that is uncharacteristic of him for a long time, it will inevitably lead to burnout in the perspective of several years," Krylenko explained.
According to her, if a person has inherently low productivity, the speed of tasks, strict deadlines and unforeseen circumstances can throw them off balance.
In addition, if a manager is not inclined to managerial activity, but has to constantly engage in data analysis, risk management and attention to detail, it will inevitably lead to burnout.
"If by nature an employee is an 'idea generator', unconventional and prone to risk, but is forced to work according to routine rules, sooner or later the company will lose this person," the expert said.
Krylenko noted that it is a serious mistake to believe that an employee is able to cope with any task. As a rule, everyone is naturally better at one or two types of tasks.
Earlier, on December 24, Maria Ignatieva, a psychoanalytical psychotherapist, head of support service "Yasno" told "Izvestia" about how to prevent burnout on the eve of the New Year. According to her, getting up in the morning and checking email or social networks first thing in the morning is not the best way to start the day. It's important to take small pauses to restore energy.
