Russian cities with the highest sales of gold and gemstones are named


Russia has compiled a rating of cities by sales of precious metals and stones in 2024. The index was compiled by "585*Gold" based on the weight of items sold per population.
The highest weight of gold purchased this year falls on Sochi - about 211 g per 1 thousand inhabitants. In the country as a whole for the 2024th sales of this precious metal increased by 15%, the average check increased by 13% and amounted to 14,079 rubles. At the same time, Russians chose it 1.3 times more often than silver, and over 5.6 tons of gold items were sold during the year.
Most of all silver was bought by residents of Ulan-Ude - 225 g for every thousand residents, totaling 76 kg. General statistics shows that in 2024 Russians bought more than 9 tons of silver jewelry, the average check amounted to 1,487 rubles and showed relative stability in terms of dynamics. Compared to last year, sales increased by 12%.
Vladikavkaz was the first in the top of popularity of diamonds, where 4.8 kg of items with this mineral were purchased over the year. In terms of the number of sales among gemstones, it is the leader in Russia, and the sales dynamics in 2024 shows a record growth of 49%.
The second line of popular gemstones was occupied by topaz. Over the year, Russians bought more than 321 kg of products with it, and the leading city for topaz was Surgut. Kyzyl, whose residents account for the highest weight index of products with this mineral (over 20 g), washes out the precious five cities. Garnet became the third gemstone by demand in 2024.
For the next most popular minerals, the list of cities was distributed as follows: emeralds - Rostov-on-Don, amethysts - Astrakhan, pearls - Tyumen, sapphires - Voronezh, and rubies - Vyborg. Overall for 2024, St. Petersburg is the leader in terms of the number of items purchased in all categories.
