Raids against drunk drivers will be intensified during New Year vacations

Measures to control safety on the roads will be strengthened during the New Year vacations in Primorsky Krai. This is reported by PrimaMedia news agency with reference to information from the regional State Automobile Inspectorate.

According to deputy head of the traffic police department Vyacheslav Kosinskii, more than 1.8 million traffic violations were recorded in Primorye in 2024. More than 8 thousand violations were related to drunk driving. 773 criminal cases were initiated for repeated drunk driving.

115 vehicles were seized from drunk motorists.

During the holidays it is planned to involve additional traffic police crews. They will work on the so-called "drunken" routes.

In 2024, the accident rate on Russia's roads decreased by 1.7%. A total of 119 thousand accidents were recorded. It was possible to improve the indicators thanks to regular raids and active prevention.
