In early 2026, AvtoVAZ will start producing crossovers. The head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov told about it at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Details of the meeting are given in the Telegram-channel of the Russian government on December 26.

It is known that the new Lada crossover will be built on the basis of the Vesta model. Its first public presentation will take place in the summer of 2025 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Sokolov also announced the results of the company's work in 2024. According to the results of the year, the volume of car production will amount to about 500 thousand units. This year the production of Vesta and Granta cars with automatic transmission, production of Largus at the Izhevsk automobile plant was launched, in the fall the electric model Largus came off the assembly line in Izhevsk, also the assembly line production of the flagship of the line - Lada Aura was launched.

The head of AvtoVAZ emphasized that about 1.3 thousand robots work at the plant sites, and the level of automation on the Granta car welding line is about 85%. The average level of localization for the model range is 95%.

On December 23, AvtoVAZ announced the launch of commercial production of the classic SUV Lada Niva in a new Sport modification. The company promised to disclose information about the timing of the start of sales, prices and configurations later.

Before that, on December 12, the head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov said that the company plans to produce 12 new modifications and models until 2030, including a new family of Lada Iskra and a crossover based on Lada Vesta, as well as a minivan.
