A Ukrainian military officer who surrendered in Kursk Region on 26 December described forced mobilization, deception and threats from the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) before being sent to the territory of Russia.

The man said that he was on his way to work when employees of the TCC (territorial manning center, the analog of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) stopped the bus and handed him a summons. He then went to the military enlistment center, where he was told to undergo a medical commission.

According to the captured soldier, he had no opportunity to escape, as he had no money or passport, and all his money went to support his family.

To all this, he said that if he did not voluntarily appear on the summons, he would be fired from his job.

"We are processed in such a way: they make us realize that if you leave, it will be even worse for you. That is, either sit through the whole thing or leave, and it is not a fact that you will come back. The minimum they can do is criminal liability, and the maximum - just 'missing in action', and that's it," the serviceman said.

Saying hello to his relatives, the man cried.

Earlier, on December 19, the AFU prisoner Grigory Shinkarev said that the command of the Ukrainian army treats ordinary soldiers cruelly and beats them with sticks, for example, for the wrong grip of a machine gun, and for attempts to escape the military were driven to the positions without equipment and shot.

Before that, on December 16, captured soldier Artur Plombirus said that the AFU command gave orders to shoot civilians and Russian soldiers in Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
