The event "Bike Courier" will be held throughout Moscow from December 27 to 29. It is aimed at preventing violations among delivery drivers on bicycles, including electric ones. This was announced on Thursday by the capital's traffic police in its Telegram-channel.

Traffic police will remind bicycle couriers of the need to be attentive on the road, respectful of pedestrians when moving on sidewalks, use protective equipment with light-reflecting elements, as well as comply with the requirements of road signs and traffic signals.

"State traffic inspectors regularly conduct raids and inspections aimed at ensuring compliance with traffic rules by road users, including those who provide delivery services. Such measures are necessary to maintain order on the roads and prevent accidents", - noted in the department.

According to the results of the last raid on users of personal mobility equipment (PME) and bicycles, which took place in Moscow on November 23-24, traffic police stopped more than 2.4 thousand violations of traffic rules by persons providing delivery services, including more than 500 cases of violations of traffic rules on sidewalks.

December 4, it was reported that the State Duma proposed to introduce for couriers an analog of MTPL insurance policy, the effect of which will apply to those who move on foot, on bicycles or mopeds.

Before that, on November 19, it became known that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is preparing changes to the traffic rules, according to which the minimum age for driving personal mobility equipment (PME) will be raised from 14 to 16 years.
