Manturov expects car sales and output in Russia to grow by 30-40%

The growth of the market and production of cars in Russia by the end of 2024 will amount to 30 to 40%. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in an interview with the TV channel "Russia 24" on December 26.

According to Manturov, the total market volume this year will be about 1.8 million cars, of which 1.5 million will be passenger cars.

"About 980 thousand cars will be produced in Russia by the end of the year, about 750 thousand will be passenger cars. About 60 brands and brands are produced and generally represented on the market," - said Manturov.

Earlier in the day it was reported that, according to Rosstat, for 11 months of 2024 in Russia was produced 679 thousand passenger cars, which is 39.3% higher than the figure for the same period last year. Production of trucks in January - November amounted to 178 thousand units, up 9.8% year-on-year.

On the eve of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov noted that the next year should be more productive for the Russian car industry than 2024, but the market is waiting for difficulties. At the end of 2024, the domestic car industry will overcome the bar of 950 thousand units, which is 13% higher than the expectations laid down in the strategy for the development of the industry, and 31% more than in 2023, said Alikhanov.
