In the Kursk region, 9 thousand applications for compensation of rental housing were submitted

Residents of Kursk region have filed about 9 thousand applications for compensation for housing rent. This was reported to journalists on December 26 by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

He specified that 7 thousand applications have already been approved.

"About 9 thousand. [people] have applied for rent compensation, 7 thousand. [applications] have been approved," he said following a meeting of the government commission on regional development.

Earlier, on October 19, the Russian government allocated more than 3.2 billion rubles to the victims in Kursk region. Depending on the degree of loss of property by the residents of the region - full or partial - such payments will amount to Br150 thousand or Br75 thousand per person.

Prior to that, September 27, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported that more than Br9 billion would be paid to the residents of Kursk region. It was noted that more than 48 thousand citizens have been assigned payments in connection with the loss of property for a total amount of more than Br7.2 billion.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike at Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the AFU.
