Russian Emergencies Ministry's special airplane with survivors of the plane crash has landed in Zhukovsky

A special Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has landed in Zhukovsky near Moscow with Russians injured when an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) airplane crashed in Kazakhstan's Aktau. This was reported by the Russian Emergencies Ministry on December 26.

"A special airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry landed at Zhukovsky airport. On board are nine injured Russians, including a child," the agency said in a statement in its Telegram channel.

"Izvestia" publishes footage of the Emergencies Ministry plane from Zhukovsky. The board is met by a large number of ambulances.

Medics accompanying the wounded told TASS that the Russians evacuated to Moscow for treatment endured the flight without deterioration of their condition.

A passenger plane of AZAL Airlines, which was on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. After the crash the plane caught fire. Preliminary, the cause of the fall of the airplane could be a collision with a flock of birds. After the crash, a criminal case was opened.

Later, AZAL published a list of 62 passengers of the aircraft. In addition to them, there were five crew members on board. Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev, in turn, came to the victims of the plane crash. AZAL stopped operating flights from Baku to Grozny and Makhachkala until the completion of the investigation.

The next day, December 26, search and rescue operation was completed at the crash site of AZAL plane. Rescuers found 38 dead, among them - six citizens of Kazakhstan and three crew members. Seven people have been identified.
