The Defense Ministry has published footage of the combat operation of a Tor-M2 SAM system in the border area of Kursk Region

On December 26, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the North group of troops performing combat missions in the border area of Kursk Region.

The footage shows how the Tor-M2 SAM system, having received a combat order, promptly arrived in the area where the task was accomplished. Having brought the complex into combat position, the servicemen hit the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with jewelry precision, after which the anti-aircraft gunners promptly left the position.

The Tor-M2 SAM system is a modern air defense system for ground forces, capable of detecting and eliminating targets at a range of over 30 kilometers. The missile system is designed to hit any targets falling within its range of altitude and range - from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to airplanes and cruise missiles.

"We can fire at four targets simultaneously. Regardless of whether it's small or big, because the same small UAV can do very big things. <...> So regardless of the size of everything that flies, we shoot down everything," said the head of the calculation with the call sign Taiga.

Earlier. On December 25, calculations of Grad MLRS hit strongholds and AFU manpower in the Kursk region. Thanks to the data received from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in real time, it is possible to make sure that the targets were successfully hit.

Ukraine 's armed forces attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. Ukrainian militants who invaded Russian territory are being liquidated.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian President on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
