The Gibka-S SAM system destroyed an AFU hexacopter on the Krasnoarmeysk direction

A crew of the newest surface-to-air missile system (SAM) "Gibka-S" of the Center group of troops has destroyed a combat hexacopter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Krasnoarmeyskoye direction of the Strategic Air Defense Forces. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 26.
While on combat duty, the unit detected a Ukrainian drone approaching the positions of Russian troops. Having transmitted target instructions for further destruction, the anti-aircraft gunners launched a missile of the Verba complex with a fragmentation-fusion warhead, destroying the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at a distance of about 2.5 kilometers.
"The machine showed itself well. Knocked down aerial targets both at night and during the day. There were "Furia", "Valkyrie" during the day, and at night - "Multicopter" and "Baba Yaga", - said the commander of the machine Vladislav.
The Gibka-S SAM system is designed to counter all modern means of air attack flying at low and extremely low altitudes at any time of day and in conditions of limited visibility. The complex is mounted on the chassis of the Tiger-M armored vehicle and is equipped with reconnaissance vehicles and an automated control system.
"The reconnaissance vehicle detects aerial targets at a distance of 30 kilometers and transmits the target and instructions to combat vehicles via classified radio communication. As a result, these combat vehicles move out, when the target enters the launch zone, it (the target. - Ed.) is safely destroyed," commented platoon commander Yaroslav.
Earlier, on December 23, the calculation RZSO "Grad" of the group of troops "Center" struck a cluster of AFU manpower and equipment in the Red Army direction of the North Caucasus Military District. It is specified that the targets were hit from a distance of more than 15 kilometers. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Grad MLRS calculation, the assault units of the Center group of troops managed to successfully carry out offensive operations.
