On the same day, Gladkov said that in Belgorod region, a pensioner covered her grandson with her body during an attack by the AFU. It is specified that the emergency occurred last year. The elderly woman's son Mikhail then worked as a soccer coach. His mother covered her grandson with her body during the shelling and died. After the tragedy, Mikhail went to serve in the volunteer unit "Bars - Belgorod".
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
