In Kamchatka, the court replaced a suspended sentence for bribery with a real one

Kamchatka Krai court on the petition of the prosecutor's office replaced the suspended sentence imposed on a resident of Khabarovsk Krai, convicted of bribery, with two years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. This was announced on December 25 by the prosecutor's office of the Kamchatka region.

"Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city court in October this year decided a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a 34-year-old businessman. He was found guilty of bribery (part 5 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) with the imposition of punishment in the form of two years of imprisonment conditionally with a fine of 16 million rubles", - the agency reports on the previously imposed sentence.

The prosecutor's office disagreed with this punishment, appealing the judicial act because of its excessive leniency. Conditional conviction was canceled, the defendant will serve his sentence in a strict regime colony.

It is reported that the defendant in the case was the General Director of a commercial organization in Khabarovsk Krai. He and his deputy handed over to the former official of the Ministry of health of the region monetary funds in the amount of 8 million rubles.
