Experts commented on strikes on critical facilities of Ukraine's energy infrastructure

The Russian Armed Forces (AF) on December 25 launched a strike on critical facilities of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which supports the work of the military-industrial complex (MIC). It was carried out with long-range precision weapons and strike drones, the Defense Ministry said.

"The goal of the strike has been achieved. All objects have been hit," the Russian military department emphasized.

The Defense Ministry also said that aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missile troops and artillery destroyed a deployment point of foreign mercenaries and SBU, hit the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as accumulations of enemy manpower and military equipment in 140 areas.

Such strikes not only stop the work of military-industrial complex enterprises, but also prevent them from supplying the front with equipment, ammunition and other goods that are necessary for the conduct of military operations, military expert Viktor Litovkin told Izvestia.

"They also have a strong influence on the moral and psychological state of the Ukrainian population. From there it is transferred to the front. People in Ukraine are gradually beginning to realize that they have nothing to look forward to, it's time to surrender. There is a systemic pushing of this country to surrender," the expert explained.

The Ukrenergo energy company said that restrictions for consumers and industry had been imposed due to damage to the country's infrastructure. Ukrainian energy holding DTEK reported damage to equipment at its thermal power plants after the explosions.

Ukrainian power engineers warned that the scope of restrictions may change overnight and urged the population not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time.
