Russian citizen arrested in Moscow on article on state treason


Meshchansky court of Moscow has sent a Russian citizen to a pre-trial detention center on suspicion of state treason. The corresponding information was published on December 25 on the website of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
"Satisfied the petition to elect a measure of restraint in the form of detention Chistyakov E.V. under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," - noted in the card of the criminal case.
The man may face a penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment.
Earlier, on December 24, FSB officers detained an employee of a regime enterprise for transferring information about the Russian Armed Forces (AF) to Ukrainian intelligence. At present, a set of investigative and operational-search activities is ongoing.
On the same day Chelyabinsk district court sentenced the Russian to 16 years in prison for treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sabotage (Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). On the assignment of the Ukrainian special services, he committed sabotage at one of the objects of transport infrastructure in the Chelyabinsk region. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
