Zelensky dismissed Ukraine's ambassador to Germany Makeyev

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired in May) has dismissed the country's ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeyev, who had been in office since October 2022. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on December 25, citing sources in diplomatic circles.
According to the newspaper, Makeyev will be replaced by the current Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk.
The newspaper said that the reason for replacing the ambassador was the regular rotation of diplomats. But, as noted in the piece, the real reason for Makieyev's dismissal was criticism of his predecessors.
Earlier, on 29 November, Zelenskyy dismissed the commander of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Oleksandr Pavlyuk, and appointed the commander of the Kharkiv group of forces, General Mykhaylo Drapatiy, to this post.
