In France, the train service on the line Paris - Lyon was severely disrupted due to the suicide of a train driver, reported December 25 BFM TV.

It is specified that in the evening of December 24, about ten trains were stopped, and passengers were locked in transport for at least six hours.

France's national railroad company SNCF confirmed that the driver "committed suicide while the train was in motion," which is why the train's automatic stop system was triggered, the TV channel noted.

"SNCF has asked Paris cabs to pick up passengers at the station exit. The company intends to compensate 100% of the ticket price to the train passengers most affected by the accident and those who were more than three hours late," BFM TV emphasized.

Despite this, many passengers were left disappointed that they did not spend Christmas Eve the way they wanted. According to the French TV channel, there were complaints from people about the lack of drinking water on trains and the lack of information from SNCF.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that train traffic was completely stopped in Norway due to a faulty communication system between drivers and dispatchers. It was specified that Norwegians can use other means of transportation, including cabs, and receive compensation for this, but it is paid only to those who bought a ticket before the stoppage of train service.
