UN Security Council to meet over Houthi attacks on Tel Aviv

The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting because of the strikes of Yemeni rebels-Husitic rebels on Tel Aviv. This was reported by The Times of Israel on December 25, citing Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
"The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting in connection with indiscriminate attacks on Israel by the Houthis," the report noted.
Israel's permanent representative to the UN, Dani Danon, called on Security Council members to support and condemn these acts of aggression. He also added that the Houthis do not realize the consequences of strikes on Israeli territory.
It is noted that the meeting will be held on December 30 at the initiative of Israel.
Earlier, on December 24, the Houthis, who control the north of Yemen, announced a strike on a military facility near Tel Aviv using a hypersonic missile.
The day before, the Houthis launched attacks on Israeli positions in Tel Aviv and Ashkelon using new Jaffa drones. Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saria emphasized that the operations were carried out in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance.
Before that, on December 21, the Israeli army military recorded the launch of a rocket from Yemen in the direction of central Israel. Then it was specified that 30 people were injured as a result of the strike.
December 19, it was reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked the facilities of the regime of the Houthis in Yemen. The targets, according to the army, were used by the Houthis for their military operations and the transfer of Iranian weapons.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas launched a massive rocket attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
