All Christmas decorations are potentially dangerous for pets. Angelina Sirotina, a veterinarian, felinologist, zoopsychologist, told about it on Wednesday, December 25.

"If your pet shows even the slightest interest in tinsel, it should be removed, and the Christmas tree is better to put at a height at which the animal will not reach: on the table, attached to a high chair, that is, somehow fix it," - said the expert in conversation with "Radio 1".

According to her, home decorations should be safe, because many animals swallow them.

"Some immediately digest and come out naturally, but this is rare. Often these decorations are twisted inside the stomach, coiled, and then taken out as foreign bodies surgically. If not noticed in time, it is fatal," - warned the veterinarian.

In turn, veterinarian Natalia Grezina said that puppies and kittens tend to chew garlands, which is fraught with electric shock, according to the website kp.ru. Therefore, it is important to install illumination out of reach of pets and turn off the devices when leaving the house, specifies 360.ru.

Earlier, on December 20, in "Sber Eapteka" and veterinary online service "CatZdorov" told "Izvestia" what to do to avoid missing pets in the New Year holidays, and how to act if the animal disappeared.
