In major Russian cities, more than 70% of participants noted a significant increase in traffic congestion in December, creating additional difficulties in their daily activities. This is reported in the study of the carsharing service "Citydrive" of the analytical agency A2:Research, which was read by "Izvestia" on December 26.
According to the study, 32% of respondents face daily traffic jams, and 35% experience this discomfort two or three times a week. At the same time, 39% of respondents noted that traffic jams persist regardless of the time of year, while 24% point to special difficulties of movement in December.
Specialists noted that the main problem for drivers in traffic jams is the lack of free time (41%). Stress is experienced by 13% of respondents, and 38% report physical discomfort. More than half of the participants (50%) try to use their time in traffic jams to their advantage by listening to music or radio.
In addition, 28% of users communicate with someone, 18% browse social networks, 20% have a snack on the road, 14% turn on a movie or TV series in the background, and 12% listen to podcasts or audiobooks.
As for New Year's plans, meeting with friends was the most common option - such preferences were expressed by 34% of respondents. In second place was home vacation, which was chosen by 27% of survey participants. The third position is occupied by participation in urban entertainment events, which were preferred by 18%. The fourth place is a trip out of town, which was chosen by 13% of respondents. And in last place are trips abroad with 8%.
Also 32% of respondents reported that they are going to drive once or twice a week, while 29% plan to use the car three to five times a week, and 19% of respondents noted that they will use the car every day.
Earlier, on December 25, psychologist, gestalt therapist Elena Masolova told "Izvestia" about how to avoid New Year's Eve depression. According to her, one of the reasons contributing to pre-New Year's depression is financial instability, known as financial stress. It's important to stick to your financial budget, staying within its limits and avoiding debt.
