FAS will analyze the logistics of butter, bread and potatoes

Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will analyze the logistics of butter, bread and potatoes, the press service of the antimonopoly body said on December 25.
"The analysis will affect the entire commodity supply chain of certain popular brands of butter and bread, as well as all commodity positions of potatoes," the FAS said.
The Service requested from suppliers and the largest by volume sales of these products retail chains "Magnit", "Pyaterochka", "Dixie", "Auchan" data on the organization of transportation, transport service providers, transportation volumes and tariffs.
Based on the information obtained, the service will assess whether transportation costs significantly affect the cost of these products for the end consumer. In case of revealing signs of violations of antimonopoly legislation based on the results of the analysis, FAS Russia will take appropriate response measures.
Earlier, on December 12, FAS advocated a ban on the return of quality unsold products by retail chains to suppliers regardless of expiration dates. It was noted that it is about the introduction of a ban on the inclusion in the supply contract of the condition on the return of such goods regardless of their expiration dates. At the same time, such regulation will not affect bona fide market participants who currently do not return quality unsold food products.
