More than a dozen EU countries have reached ultra-low birth rates

Twelve countries of the European Union (EU) have reached ultra-low birth rates. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT) with reference to the Federal Statistical Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
"Germany's birth rate falls to 1.35 children per woman in 2023, below the UN's "ultra-low" threshold of 1.4. In such a scenario, the fall in fertility will be difficult to reverse," - noted in the message.
The material notes that also dropped birth rates in Estonia, Austria, Spain, Greece and Italy.
The reason for the ultra-low birth rate indicated the growth of inflation, as well as the fear of losing their jobs.
Earlier, December 20, American billionaire and entrepreneur Ilon Musk said that Germany and all of Europe are on the verge of extinction due to low birth rates and demographic crisis.
On December 3, Musk said that the biggest threat faced by mankind was the falling birth rate.
Before that, on November 17, Musk said that Europe is dying. So he commented on the publication with low birth rates in the EU countries.
