Su-35S fighters provided air cover for the Air Force in the Kursk Region


Crews of Russian Su-35S multi-purpose super-maneuverable Russian fighters with controlled thrust vectoring of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) have performed air cover for the VKS crews in the border area of the Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 25.
Fulfilling combat missions, the pilots practiced air cover in the specified area of operations of bomber and attack aircraft, as well as helicopters of the army aviation when carrying out air strikes on armored vehicles and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"Also with the help of a complex of aviation weapons the aircraft performed the detection of enemy air defense objects," - added in the Department.
Earlier on December 25, it was reported that fighters of the Armed Forces (AFU) of the Russian Federation during offensive actions destroyed a unit of the 47th mechanized brigade of the AFU near the settlement of Leonidovo in the Kursk region. Also, three militants were captured and four more were destroyed.
On the same day, the army corps of the "North" group of forces destroyed platoon strongholds and an accumulation of AFU personnel in the border area of Kursk Region with multiple rocket launchers (MLRS).
Ukraine's armed forces attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory are being liquidated.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian President on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
