Skier Krupitskaya wins mass start at the Russian Championship

A 22-year-old skier from St. Petersburg, Evgenia Krupitskaya, won the 30 km freestyle mass start at the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Championships in Kirovo-Chepetsk with a 0.1-second advantage. This became known on December 25 after the race.

The athlete was able to overcome the distance in one hour 15 minutes and 18.7 seconds. The second place according to the results of the photo-finish was taken by Maria Istomina (+0.1). The bronze medalist was Arina Kalicheva, her gap from her rivals amounted to 0.7 seconds.

It is reported that the men's 50 km marathon will be held on December 26.

Earlier, in April this year, three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov won the pursuit race in the final of the Cup of Russia in Kirovsk. The 27-year-old athlete managed to cover the distance in 34 minutes 27.3 seconds.
