Omsk court arrests driver who hit mother and child

Maryanovsky district court of the Omsk region arrested the driver accused in the road accident, which killed a three-year-old girl. This was reported in Telegram of the courts of the Omsk region.

"The court granted the petition and elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months," - stated in the publication.

The man is accused of a crime under part. 4 Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, causing the death of a person by negligence, committed by a person in a state of intoxication, associated with leaving the place of its commission").

The ruling has not entered into legal force, clarified in the agency.

A man in a state of alcohol intoxication hit a woman and her three-year-old daughter on a sled on December 24 on Proletarskaya Street in the district village of Maryanivka. As a result of the accident, the child died, the mother is in hospital in serious condition. The driver admitted that he was drinking alcohol because of his frustration over the impending divorce, and he does not remember the moment of the accident.
