Sobyanin announced the opening of more than 40 new metro and MCC stations by 2030

More than four dozen new metro stations and Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) are planned to be opened in Moscow by 2030. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on December 25 at the plenary session, speaking with his annual report to the Moscow City Duma.

"First of all, we will continue the development of the rail framework of Moscow: the fastest, safest, ecological type of public transportation. By 2030, we plan to open more than 40 new metro and MCC stations," the mayor said.

Earlier, on December 13, Sobyanin said that an unmanned tramway will start running in Moscow by the end of 2025. In addition, he noted that it is planned to build a new streetcar line on Akademika Sakharov Avenue, another one - on Trifonovskaya Street - is going to be restored.

Later, on December 15, suburban trains, including MCD routes, switched to the updated schedule. According to the new schedule, MCD-1 and MCD-2 trains will run faster.
