The mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin, speaking with the annual report on the work of the capital government in the Moscow City Duma, thanked the president, the Russian government and the parliament for their support. The words of the mayor are quoted by the Agency of city news "Moscow".

The mayor also conveyed words of gratitude to "talented, hardworking and selfless Muscovites".

Sobyanin added that the city sets itself ambitious and extremely difficult tasks. "We raise the bar higher and higher. This is necessary for the city, for the country. And I am sure that we will succeed," the mayor concluded.

During the report, Sobyanin said that based on the World Bank data, Moscow took the second position among the world's urban economies. "We have dozens of successfully implemented projects under our belt, and neither covid nor sanctions could stop the development of Moscow," the mayor emphasized.

At the same time, he said, Moscow's goal is to become the best city on Earth. "Stopping or even slowing down in development will mean losing," Sobyanin said, noting that this is not so much a question of "anyone's ambitions, given Russia's place in the world, it is a question, in fact, of survival."
