On December 25, the Russian Interior Ministry put former Moscow municipal deputy Ilya Yashin (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) on a federal wanted list under a criminal article. This follows from the agency's database.

It's not specified under which article he is wanted.

August 1, there was a large-scale exchange of prisoners between Russia, Belarus and Western countries. The lists included 24 people, eight of them - Russians, who flew home and were met personally by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Another 16 of those exchanged were citizens of Russia or Western countries, as well as people with dual citizenship who traveled from Russia and Belarus to other states. Yashin was among them.

Earlier, on June 20, the Moscow City Court held a hearing on the protocol on violation of the foreign agent procedure against Yashin. The court rejected his appeal. In 2023, the court fined and decided to find Ilya Yashin guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the CAO and impose a penalty in the form of an administrative fine of 45 thousand rubles. In 2022, Yashin was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in the case of fakes about the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation.
