A doctor spoke about the impact of magnetic storms on weather-dependent people

People with cardiovascular diseases (hypertension, ischemic heart disease), neurological problems (migraine), endocrine disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system are the most sensitive to weather changes. Svetlana Kuprina, a general practitioner and ultrasound doctor at INVITRO - Voronezh, told Izvestia on December 25 about the impact of the magnetic storm on weather-dependent people.
"Such category of patients may experience spikes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, headaches, general weakness, decreased efficiency, irritability, sleep disorders. To reduce meteosensitivity is recommended a comprehensive approach: it is properly selected therapy of chronic diseases and a healthy lifestyle," - explained Kuprina.
According to the expert, for the period of a magnetic storm it is necessary to take regular medications prescribed by the doctor, daily walks in the fresh air for at least 30-40 minutes and moderate physical activity.
In addition, the doctor recommends reducing the consumption of fatty and fried dishes, reduce the number of sweets and convenience foods in the diet, as well as include in the diet foods rich in magnesium and potassium.
"During periods of magnetic storms, it is especially important to avoid excessive physical and emotional stress, maintain an optimal indoor climate, carry the necessary medications and timely consult a doctor in case of deterioration of health," - summarized Kuprina.
Earlier, on December 17, the head of the laboratory of solar astronomy IKI RAS Sergey Bogachev told "Izvestia" about the magnetic storm. According to him, a rather large prominence was thrown into space, about 500 thousand kilometers. Such large-scale processes are rare. Now there is a magnetic storm, and it is caused by the fact that the prominence affected the Earth.
