- The complex of buildings of a tannery in St. Petersburg was recognized as a monument

In St. Petersburg, the complex of buildings of the A.A. Osipov and Co. tannery located in Dekabristov Lane was recognized as a monument. They were included in the unified state register as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. Now this complex is subject to protection.
TV channel "78" with reference to the Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments writes that the partnership was for a long time one of the leading positions in the industry of leather production and trade. At first it supplied boots for the army and navy. And in the early 1900s it opened a department for the production of belts, harnesses, saddles, horse harness and leather accessories for the military.
The Smolny noted that the construction of this factory helped not only the formation of light industry in the city, but also the development of the territory adjacent to it.
The buildings of the former factory built in the XIX century are mostly made of bricks. Now the buildings are used for production.
Earlier, on December 19, it was reported that the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region obliged the State Academic Mariinsky Theater to carry out work on the restoration of the house of Princess Shakhovskaya. Within five years, the theater must repair the load-bearing structures of the building on Sadovaya Street, as well as the roofs, front and courtyard facades, and interior spaces. The house where Mikhail Lermontov lived in 1836-1837 has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
